African People's Dance is a whole programme of activity, performance and participation focusing specifically on the traditional African and Caribbean dance forms. Projects include:

Schools and community workshops in traditional African folk-dance, storytelling, music and drumming.

Professional dance residencies, youth schools and artist workshops

A national Black Dance Forum.

Professional collaborations(to date these include Ndere Troupe, Uganda; Koromanti Arts, UK; Noyam Institute ,Ghana; Dance theatre of Harlem, USA)



Afro-Vibes is the most recent strand in the 3 year programme here at DiGM, with a series of workshops led by renowned artists, (Francis Angol, Jackie Guy, Sheba Montserrat, Jonzi D, the Jiving Lindy Hoppers and ACE Dance and Music). Check with the office for planned future events.
